Dear Parents,
***IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT COVID-19 TESTING***
We currently have rapid (16 min result) SARS-COV2 antigen nasal testing capabilities in office. These tests are reserved for current patients, who have been sent home from school and need a negative COVID test result and note to return to school only. At this time we are not testing patients who are not established with our practice and we are unable to use these tests for general COVID screening.
We wanted to take this opportunity to share with our patients and families the steps that we are taking at the office during this time:
- We are now offering Telehealth visits for certain appointment types, please read our Telehealth Guide here for more information. Lockport Pediatrics Telehealth Guide
- Every exam room undergoes increased sanitation after every visit, including door handles, chairs, exam tables, etc.
- We have increased the frequency of cleanings throughout the entire office.
- Our employees are being screened for illness before starting work for the day and anyone with a fever is being sent home.
- Our clinical staff are using appropriate PPE when obtaining any patient samples to prevent the spread of any infection.
The steps below from the NYS Department of Health to protect you are your family:
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap is not available, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue and throw your tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces in your home or office frequently.
